Plastic mold 2316 is made of tool steel, available from stock in round, flat, and plate molds.

Plastic (e.PVC) 1.2316 is a chromium martensitic stainless steel with uniform hardness in all dimensions, easy to process, good surface finish, and polished.

2316 mold steel is commonly used for plastic molds and has a higher corrosion resistance than 1.2083.

It can be used for the production of chemically aggressive materials, such as PVC.

Annealing 1.2316:-

810 – 830 °C, Hardness after annealing: Max. 235 HB.

Stress-relieving of 1.2316 steel:-

Soak at 600°C – 650°C, furnace cool.

Hardening:-

Heat to 1020°C – 1040 °C. Quench in oil at 500 – 550°C. Hardness after quenching: 48 – 52 HRC.
