C45 grade steel is a medium carbon steel supplying mild tensile strengths.
This grade is most usually supplied in an untreated or normalized situation and is available in numerous versions (denoted through additional letters) which give slight changes of chemical composition.
The material is capable of via hardening by means of quenching and tempering on restricted sections however can also be flame or induction hardened to hrc fifty five.
